Jutog KV teacher gets Moscow posting

Neelu Sharma, the seniormost primary teacher posted at Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Jutog (Shimla), has been selected for posting at KV, Moscow. She will join at her new place of posting after the situation returns to normal. As many as 30 teachers had applied for posting abroad and Neelu Sharma is among six teachers selected for foreign posting. Vir Chand, principal of the school, said Sharma was a hardworking and dedicated teacher. He congratulated her on behalf of the school staff.

Varsity department inks pact with HPSPCB

In order to strengthen the scientific and academic spheres, the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, School of Environmental Studies, Institute of Integrated Himalayan Studies, HPU, Shimla, inked a pact with Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (HPSPCB) recently. On the behalf of the institute, Director, Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, RP Sharma, signed the agreement, while IAS Aditya Negi, Member Secretary, signed the agreement on behalf of the HPSPCB, Shimla. The collaborating partners agreed to exchange faculty members for lecturing, training and R&D. HPU VC Sikander Kumar said both collaborating partners would involve faculty members of the teaching/technical/scientific staff and/or researchers to undertake joint research/field studies. The two collaborating parties will exchange relevant information/publications, books, brochures and periodicals. Sharma said the first step in this regard was the installation of Air Quality Monitoring System in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, which would be useful for students pursuing their degrees in Environmental Studies.

Workshop held for Faculty

The Department of Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology of Jaypee University Of Information Technology, Solan, organised a faculty development programme on ‘Transforming Education With Industry 4.0’. It was conducted by Ruchi Verma. As many as 1,125 people from UAE, Ethiopia, Australia, Indonesia, Nepal, Malaysia participated in the programme. Dr Aprajita Ojha updated the participants on block chain technology while Dr Purnima Chauhan spoke on ‘The New Brave-Industry 4.0’. The programme included various interactive sessions for the current workforce to enhance their skills and get an overview of technologies required for Industry 4.0.
