JSV spending Rs 1,350 cr on water supply in Hamirpur: Dy CM

HRTC to start 175 buses to religious destinations

The Jal Shakti Vibhag is spending over Rs 1,350 crore on various water supply schemes in the district, said Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri while addressing a gathering on the occasion of the district-level Republic Day celebrations here yesterday. He said the long-awaited new bus stand in Hamirpur would be built soon at the cost of Rs 55 crore.

Wishing people on 75th Republic Day, Agnihotri said thousands of people sacrificed their lives to attain Independence and lakhs participated in the freedom struggle. The Deputy CM said the state government was working to make the state self-reliant.

He said Himachal Road Transport Corporation would start 175 buses to religious destinations, including Ayodhaya, Vrindavan, Dera Beas, Haridwar, Khatu Shayam, Jawalamukhi, Baba Balak Nath Deotsidh, Shri Naina Devi etc. As many as 300 new buses would be added to the HRTC fleet in one year while 2,000 buses would be added in next four years. He also flagged off bus service to Vrindavan yesterday.

Agnihotri also listed various development, welfare and entrepreneurship programmes of the state government. He said government had planned to fill over 10,000 vacancies in various departments, including 1,450 in the Health Department, 1,226 in police, 874 patwaris in the Revenue Department and 2016 Van Mitras in the Forest Department.

Earlier, the Deputy CM inspected the parade and unfurled the national flag at Government Senior Secondary School for Boys.
