All five-time MLAs are expected to take oath as ministers, say Congress sources

Seven Congress leaders will take oath as Cabinet ministers at the first expansion of the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet on Sunday morning.

Top Congress sources said the seven leaders to take oath include late chief minister Virbhadra Singh’s son and Shimla Rural MLA Vikramaditya Singh, five-time MLA from Shillai Harshwardhan Chauhan and eldest Congress MLA Dhani Ram Shandil.

Top Congress sources said all five-time MLAs are expected to take oath as ministers tomorrow, including Jagat Singh Negi, Chander Kumar and Rohit Thakur.

Raghubir Bali, son of late minister GS Bali, is also a likely minister to take oath tomorrow.

Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was in Delhi to finalise the names of the ministers and held talks with AICC leadership, including party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, AICC general secretary organisation KC Venugopal and AICC state in charge Rajeev Shukla.

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Mukesh Agnihotri took oath as Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, respectively, on December 11.

The Congress has won 40 out of 68 assembly seats, including 10 seats from Kangra, seven from Shimla, four each in Una, Solan, and Hamirpur, three in Sirmaur, two each in Chamba and Kullu, and one each in Mandi, Bilaspur, Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti district and all the regions have to be represented.
