Shimla, December 17

Himachal Pradesh has been adjudged as the best performing state in the implementation of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) in the category of hill states. The fact came to light during an online conference presided over by Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy on Tuesday.

The National Crime Records Bureau had organised a two-day seminar on Crime and the Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) and the Inter-operable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) on December 15 and 16. This is in recognition of the hard work the state police had put in to implement the CCTNS, said DGP Sanjay Kundu. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur also congratulated the DGP and the HP Police for the achievement.

Himachal was the first state in the country to prepare a customised system, as per the requirements of the state, adding state-centric new modules such as the registration of migrant labours, emergency response of control rooms and department-related Vidhan Sabha questions. The pilot project was launched in February 2015 in five police stations of Shimla.
