State Congress leadership converges in Una to enthuse party workers

Pratibha Singh said the BJP government in Himachal Pradesh was set to be ousted, adding that the ruling party has nothing to showcase as its achievements during the last four and a half years. She said Jai Ram Thakur’s tenure had been marred with financial mismanagement with no hold over bureaucracy.

Reacting to BJP remarks that the Congress was a divided house in the state, the HPCC president said the BJP should not be concerned about the Congress, but set its own house in order. She said the Congress was united in the state and in a democratic set up, the Congress had never projected a chief ministerial candidate. The elected MLAs and the party high command choose the Chief Minister, she said.

Negating BJP allegations that the Congress was fueling sentiments against Agnipath scheme, Pratibha said youths were angry with the scheme which neither had any promotion chances during the short span of four years of service nor was there any provision of pension. “They will become unemployed for the second time in their life after serving the country for just four years,” she said.

Sukhu, Agnihotri and Rajinder Rana tried to enthuse the party workers. They called upon the party workers to get organised and work towards ensuring the victory of the Congress candidates unitedly. A considerable number of Congress workers attended the rally and raised slogans in favour of the party and the congress leaders at the venue of the rally.
