Follow Constitution, Guv advises cops

Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, who was the chief guest at the passing-out parade of the 21st batch of constables at Himachal Pradesh Police Training College, Daroh, Kangra, advised the officials to abide by the Constitution and democratic moral values.

The Governor took the salute of the officials and congratulated the constables.

Dattatreya said they are a part of the state and expressed hope that the trainees would work with dedication towards serving the society.

He added that the police should be responsible and keep humanity in mind while taking decisions as per the law.

He appreciated the efforts of the Director General of Police (DGP)as well as the Principal and staff of the PTC for imparting training to the constables during the pandemic. He said every police personnel was a Covid warrior.

The Governor said the Himachal Pradesh Police is known for honesty and professionalism.

The surge in terrorism, and drug abuse in the country needed to be tackled, he said.

About 834 constables participated in the parade, comprising 642 men and 192 women. The Governor also released a souvenir on the occasion of completion of 25 years of establishment of the institution. The Governor also laid the foundation stone of a modern barrack to be constructed with an outlay of Rs 14 crore on the PTC premises. Sanjay Kundu, Director General of Police, welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries.
