First meeting for vaccination campaign held

Shimla, November 27

Health Secretary Amitabh Awasthi today presided over the first meeting of the State Task Force Committee for the successful implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination campaign in the coming days, as per the guidelines of the Union Ministry of Health.

He detailed the roles of various departments during the vaccination programme. Mission Director of the National Health Mission Dr Nipun Jindal spoke about the preparations for combating Covid-19 and also gave information regarding the blue print being prepared for the campaign. He said that only initial preparations and monitoring had been started in this direction. He added that it could not be ascertained when the vaccine would be available.

Member of the committee and State Vaccination Officer Dr Hiten Baniyal made a power-point presentation on the occasion. Director Health Bharat Bhushan Katoch attended the meeting.
