Shimla, February 4

In view of the heavy snowfall and rainfall across the state, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) here on Sunday demanded that the Himachal Pradesh University authorities extend the examination form submission deadline for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) students of International Centre for Distance Education and Open Learning (ICDEOL).

As per the notification issued by the university in January, the last date to submit the examination form is February 5. Students would be charged with a late fee if they submit the form after the date. The University had directed students to fill the examination forms online and then print and submit the hard copy to the university by the deadline.

A delegation of ABVP met with the Additional Controller of Examination and submitted a memorandum of their demands in this regard.

In a press release issued here, ABVP vice president Ashish Sharma said transport from many areas of the state had been cut off due to heavy snowfall. Due to this, many students would be unable to submit the examination forms in time, he added. “Keeping the students’ interest in mind, the ABVP has requested the Additional Controller of Examination of the University to extend the deadline so that the students can fill their forms without any inconvenience,” Sharma said.

“The ABVP has been advocating for such demands, and we will continue to work for the welfare of students in the future as well,” he added.
