Dumping of garbage at Oachgat goes unchecked

THE dumping of garbage at Oachghat on the Solan-Rajgarh road has become a health hazard. There is no proper garbage disposal site or collection system, due to which people dump the garbage there. One can see pigs, stray cattle and dogs feasting on the littered garbage. The authorities concerned should intervene. — Om Prakash Gupta, Solan

No private bus service, Commuters harassed

Commuters are facing inconvenience while going to office, as the private bus operators on Thursday suspended plying of buses, following the all-Indian call by the trade unions. Though additional buses were running on the routes by the HRTC, passengers have to wait buses in the chill to the vehicle, because of the 50 per cent occupany rule. The government should have made adequate arrangements in advance when the announcement was made. —Rahul, Shimla
