After the meeting of RK Agrawal, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, WAPCOS Limited, with Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in Delhi last week, WAPCOS has prepared a draft DPR for the Mandi airport in record time and will be submitting to Department of Civil Aviation this week.

According WAPCOS sources, the site clearance for the Mandi airport was received by the state government from the Ministry of Civil Aviation on July 20. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has asked the state government to submit the DPR to the Ministry of Civil Aviation for in-principle approval of the airport.

The sources said a draft DPR had been prepared by WAPCOS and would be submitted shortly to the state Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation. WAPCOS is also doing the environmental impact assessment for this project for the environmental clearance of the site.
