Coronavirus: Himachal's Sirmaur district reports 10 more cases, tally rises to 452

Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur reported 10 new cases of coronavirus on Wednesday, taking the district's case tally to 452.

DC Dr RK Pruthi said eight cases were recorded in Paonta Sahib sub-division, while one case each was reported from Nahan and Shillai. Two women, aged 52 and 66, and eight men, between the ages of 22 to 52, tested positive for the contagion.

In Paonta Sahib, one woman and seven men tested positive. The personal security officer of Baldev Tomar, the vice-chairman of HP food and civil supplies corporation was among them. Notably, Tomar, his family and driver have already tested positive. The 52-year old wife and 25-year old son of the naib tehsildar of Kamrau also tested positive on Wednesday. The Tehsildar had previously tested positive.

Other cases were reported from Aikta Colony, Parotha, Purruwala and Sahula and comprise the contacts of the power minister Sukhram Chaudhary, who had tested positive on August 6.

The DC said all patients have been shifted to COVID care centres for treatment.
