New Delhi, February 28

Senior Himachal BJP leader and Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Wednesday said Congress MLAs had lost faith in their own government in the state as governance and development had come to a halt over the last 14 months of Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led dispensation.

"Congress MLAs in Himachal have lost faith in their own government. The reason is clear: false promises, false guarantees, mutual distrust, difference between words and actions, weak and poor leadership. Rs 1,500 per month promised to women were never given. Congress MLAs were funding it difficult to show their face to the constituents," said Thakur, four-term MP from Hamirpur.

Thakur said the embarrassment in going out in public was a major factor why the Congress MLAs had cross voted in Rajya Sabha elections.

"Now the crisis has deepened even further. In Himachal, Congress seems scattered, broken and they themselves are responsible for this," he said.
