Chandigarh, February 3

The BJP rally at the Zorawar Stadium in Dharamsala featured senior leaders, including the party president JP Nadda.

The BJP leaders targeted the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh for allegedly failing to fulfill its promises. While addressing, Union minister for information and broadcasting Anurag Thakur congratulated veteran BJP leader Lal Krishan Advani on being awarded the Bharat Ratna.

Thakur praised PM Modi for conferring the honour on Advani.

He also took the opportunity to criticize the Congress, asserting that the overwhelming turnout at the rally signaled the dissatisfaction of the people with the one-year rule of the party in Himachal Pradesh. Thakur commended the BJP government’s commitment to an inclusive and innovative Union budget aimed at making India a developed nation.

Highlighting the transformative changes since 2014, he credited the government for putting an end to corruption scandals that plagued the country in the past.

Thakur also pointed out the coming to power of Arvind Kejriwal, emphasising the changing political dynamics with the once vehemently anti-Congress now allied with them.

The minister expressed confidence in the BJP’s electoral success in Himachal Pradesh, claiming victory in all four seats.

He highlighted the construction of 4 crore houses for the underprivileged, with 75 per cent registered in the names of the intended beneficiaries. Furthermore, Thakur announced health insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh for Asha and Anganwadi workers under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

He cited the thriving startup ecosystem in India, with over one lakh startups contributing to the nation’s growth. Thakur revealed an allocation of Rs 1 lakh crore for research and innovation.

He declared a threefold increase in the sports budget.
