Shimla, September 15

The Congress on Tuesday staged a walk out in the Vidhan Sabha after Speaker disallowed request by Sujanpur MLA Rajinder Rana to discuss benami land deals in the state.

Even before question hour could begin, Rana urged the Speaker to allow debate on shady land deals for which he had given notice under Rule 67.

Speaker Vipin Parmar said his notice had been sent to the Government and the listed business for the day will be taken up.

The Congress MLA’s led by Leader of Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri created ruckus and resorted to sloganeering.

Finally, they staged a walk out.

Earlier, in the morning, Congress MLA’s staged a protest outside the office of the Speaker for not being given a fair chance to speak inside the house.

They sat on the floor in the corridor to lodge their protest.  Later, they had a talk with the Speaker and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Bhardwaj.
