Shimla, December 1

The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) today held statewide protests to show its solidarity with the farmers protesting against the three farm laws in Delhi.

The protests were staged in Shimla, Chamba, Dharamsala, Hamirpur, Una, Mandi, Kullu and a few other places. Asking the protesters to prepare to head to Delhi to support the agitating farmers, CITU state president Vijender Mehra said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Haryana Government were determined to suppress the farmers, which was very unfortunate. “The way they have dealt with the farmers, it has become clear that the government is on the side of the corporates and want to suppress the farmers,” said Mehra. Mehra urged the labourers to join the fight and stand with the farmers.

He said the new laws would destroy agricultural institutes such as APMCs, there would be no MSP and would promote black marketing.
