Good Gesture For Contractual Staff
Chances of curfew being relaxed after April 20 seems unlikely with four new cases being detected within two days, including two from Hamirpur which had been corona-free.
The Cabinet, which met here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, reviewed the situation in the state. The Chief Minister had hinted that some relaxations could be made after April 20 in the seven districts which had not reported any corona case.
The emergence of two cases from Hamirpur has left the government in a tizzy. With no travel or contact history, the district administration has sealed the zone and the buffer area.
Presentations were made before the Cabinet with regard to the corona outbreak. The number of cases has now shot up to 39 with one case each from Chamba and Una and two from Hamirpur district. While the two cases from Una and Chamba have a contact and travel history, two cases in Hamirpur have baffled the authorities as they are frantically trying to establish their travel or contact history.
A task force, constituted to assess sector-wise losses, is engaged in calculating the damage that various sectors have suffered.
It is based on their report that the Cabinet will take a call on making relaxations. So far, 6,739 persons have been kept under surveillance of which 4,800 have completed the 28-day quarantine. Of a total of 2,240 persons whose samples have been taken, 39 have tested positive.
