Chamba ZP okays projects worth Rs 1,511 cr

The Chamba Zila Parishad (ZP) under the leadership of chairperson Neelam Kumari approved 63,489 development projects worth Rs 1,511.73 crore under the MGNREGA annual plan for financial year 2024-25 at a meeting held here today. Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Rahul Chauhan attended the meeting.

Approval was granted to 4,119 projects of over Rs 77.33 crore for Bharmour development block, 16,711 projects of Rs 435.90 crore for Bhattiyat development block, and 8,878 projects of Rs 184.92 crore.

Similarly, 14,088 projects of Rs 239.72 crore were approved for Mehla development block, 2,071 projects of Rs 74.53 crore for Pangi development block, 5,752 projects of Rs 219.78 crore for Salooni development block and 11,870 projects of Rs 286.52 crore for Tissa block were also approved.

Neelam instructed the officials concerned to expedite the implementation of rural development projects that had been affected by the recent rainfall and snowfall. She added that a list of projects provided by the members would be included in the MGNREGA category. She also directed the officials to undertake an assessment at the panchayat level of damage caused by heavy rainfall and snowfall in recent days. A detailed discussion was also held regarding various tasks under the Animal Birth Control Programme.
