Cabinet sub-panel to examine legal aspects of pending HPSSC exam results

The Cabinet at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu here today decided to constitute a sub-committee under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri to examine the legal aspects regarding the pending results of the recruitment exams withheld on account of a police inquiry after the Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission (HPSSC), Hamirpur, was disbanded.

New patwar circle created at Jharmajri in Baddi

• The Cabinet approved the opening of a Sub-Divisional Office (Civil) at Baddi in Solan district and Block Development Offices at Patta in Solan district and Palampur in Kangra district
• It also gave nod to filling five posts of the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services (HAS) by direct recruitment on the basis of the Combined Competitive Examination and nine posts of Class ‘A’ Tehsildar and 19 posts of Class ‘A’ Naib Tehsildar in the Revenue Department
• The Cabinet decided to create a new patwar circle at Jharmajri in Baddi tehsil of Solan district, fill seven posts of different categories in the Planning Department and six posts in the Assistant Tourism Development Offices in Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti districts
• It also decided to fill four posts of District Child Protection Officer under the Mission Vatsalya Scheme

Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh and Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma would be the members of of the Cabinet sub-committee. The decision comes in the wake of widespread protests by unemployed youth, who had appeared in the exams for various jobs but the results had been delayed due to a police case and a probe underway into the paper leak at the HPSSC.

The Cabinet approved the Governor’s address to be delivered on the opening day of the Budget session of the Vidhan Sabha starting on February 14. It also gave nod to the framing of rules of business and procedure for the setting up of the Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog, which would replace the disbanded HPSSC.

The Cabinet also approved the constitution of a Cabinet sub-committee under the chairmanship of the Revenue Minister to review the land allotted to different departments. The sub-committee would also look into the issue of unutilised leased land. Rural Development Minister Anirudh Singh, PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh and Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani would be the members of this Cabinet sub-committee.

It wa also decided that a Cabinet sub-committee be constituted under the chairmanship of the Rural Development Minister to examine the issue of unutilised vacant buildings of various departments. Dharmani and Goma would be its members.
