Dharamsala, July 10

Members of the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) launched a campaign here today, calling upon people to boycott Chinese goods. The TYC members gathered at the main square of McLeodganj and raised slogans against China.

Tenzin Tsundue, a TYC activist, said, “China had continuously committed human rights violations in Tibet for the past 60 years. About one million Tibetans have died in Tibet due to the oppressive rule of the Communist Party of China. The TYC launched a campaign in Dharamsala on Friday for the boycott of Chinese goods. It will take the campaign across India and at the international level also”.

The TYC activists said that China was using its economic muscle power to encroach upon the territories of other countries in South East Asia. The only way to counter China was to boycott its goods and hit its economy.
