Bhattiyat constituency to get 30 rural roads, says Himachal Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania

Vidhan Sabah Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania today said that the state government was spending over Rs 134 crore on the construction of at least 30 link roads in the Bhattiyat Assembly constituency of Chamba district. He addressed a public meeting after inaugurating the Panchayat Bhavan and the Patwar Circle Office at Khadra constructed at a cost of Rs 42 lakh.

Pathania also laid the foundation stone of the Khadra-Ohara link road and performed the ceremonial groundbreaking for the expansion of the Manola-Mahot link road.

He said that Rs 20 lakh was being spent on the construction of the Khadra-Ohara link road, which would benefit more than 2,000 residents of the area, and Rs 20 lakh on the widening of the Manola-Mahot link road. The Speaker added that the Hobad-Khadra link road was being mettaled at a cost of Rs 3.12 crore. He assured people that the road work would be completed within the time frame.

Pathania said that 30 link roads were being constructed at a cost of Rs 134 crore in the first year of the Congress rule in the state. He added that while roads were being constructed in 30 villages, in the remaining 60 villages, these would be constructed in the next two years.

He said that with the inauguration of the Panchayat Bhavan and the Patwar Circle Office at Khadra, local residents would now have access to various services provided by the Revenue and Rural Development departments.

The Speaker said that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu would inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development projects worth Rs 35 lakh in the Bhattiyat Assembly constituency on February 10. He added that the Chief Minister would also preside over the "Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar" programme at Chowari.
