SDM, Nalagarh, Mahendra Pal Gurjar has directed the managements of all industrial units to share the reports of cases, who were tested privately.
“The managements have been directed to tabulate the cumulative reports of Covid tests conducted by them and share these with the SDM. The non-disclosure of information will fetch strict action under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and under Section 188 of the IPC,” the SDM said.
He said such voluntary disclosures would help the administration in effectively curbing Covid spread in the belt.
“This small step will also help in launching uninterrupted operations in the units, which will not face closure as was the case earlier. The managements of some industries have started sending daily test reports and we hope that all industries will comply with the orders” said the SDM.
As against 41 cases reported on January 8, 120 cases were recorded last evening. The rising cases in the BBN area has again put the administration on its toes.
The daily ingress of industrial executives from neighbouring areas has been a big contributor to the Covid surge. This is evident from relatively lesser number of cases at weekends.
The managements of industries are dithering over providing information to the administration of the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) industrial area about Covid cases emerging on their premises.
A sharp surge in Covid cases has been witnessed in this bordering industrial belt, as in the absence of information the health authorities are not able to effectively trace the contacts of infected people and isolate them.
