Muskan Jindal (22) has done Baddi proud by securing the 87th rank in the UPSC exam whose results were declared today. She achieved the feat in her very first attempt depending mostly on self study.

Muskan says she had made up her mind to enter the civil services ever since her childhood following motivation from her family, particularly by her father Pawan Jindal. Sharing her success mantra with The Tribune she said, “I took online and offline guidance but depended mainly on self-study.”

“I set weekly targets and consistently followed these in letter and spirit and devoted about 7 to 8 hours to study everyday,” said Muskan.

She said remaining positive under all circumstances is a virtue which her grandfather had taught her and this helped her immensely in preparation for the exam. She opted for commerce and accountancy as her optional subjects for the exam.

After completing B.Com (hons) from SD College, Sector 32, Chandigarh, in 2018, she wholeheartedly devoted her time to prepare for the UPSC exam. Muskan has been a topper since her school days. She attained 10 cumulative grade points average in class X and secured 96 per marks in class XII exam. She did her schooling from VR Senior Secondary School, Baddi. She attained the fifth rank in B.Com (hons) in Panjab University. “Remaining focused and consistent in preparation” is her advice to those wanting to crack this exam.

Living in a joint family, she is the second of four siblings in her family. Her father Pawan Jindal runs a hardware shop at Baddi while her mother Jyoti Jindal is

a housewife.
