Solan, February 11

Two more bodies were recovered from the second floor of the gutted perfume manufacturing unit, NR Aromas, at Jharmajri in Barotiwala this afternoon during a search conducted by teams of the police and State Disaster Response Force, taking the toll to seven.

The bodies were charred beyond recognition and were kept at the Community Health Centre, Nalagarh. As many as 29 workers were injured in the devastating fire.

The unit was gutted in a massive fire on February 2. The cause of the fire is being ascertained by forensic science experts.

Baddi Deputy Superintendent of Police Khajana Ram said that two severely charred bodies were recovered from the second floor of the gutted factory during a search. The bodies were buried under debris and hence could not be located earlier.

He added, “The kin of the five missing workers have been asked to visit the Nalagarh CHC to identify the bodies. The presence of a chain can help them to recognise bodies as no other identification is available. DNA sampling will be undertaken to identify the bodies.”
