Nurpur, March 18

In view of the Coronavirus threat, the Jawali administration has identified nine persons in Jawali sub-division who had foreign travel history during the past 24 hours.

Eight persons have been asked to remain in isolation in their houses whereas one woman identified as Uttami Devi (65) was shifted to Central Health Education Bureau (CHEB) in Kangra in the isolation ward set up by the district administration. The woman will be quarantined for 14 days at the ward.

Salim Azam, SDM, Jawali, said the quarantined woman had come from Nepal to her son-in-law who had an eatery vend in Jawali. He said the woman was reluctant to shift to the ward but was persuaded and sent there last night.

Azam said people with foreign travel history had been divided into three categories. “The first category comprises persons up to 60 years, second above 60 years, and the third category are those with Coronavirus symptoms.” — OC
