NURPUR, JANUARY 16

Keeping in view the cold weather and dense fog in the morning hours in the lower hills of Kangra, the district administration has issued a notification today to revise the timings for government as well as private schools.

In the notification issued under Section 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Deputy Commissioner has ordered schools to follow a new schedule from 10 am to 3.30 pm in the jurisdiction of Nurpur, Indora, Jawali, Fatehpur, Dehra, Jwalamukhi and Jaisinghpur subdivisions from January 17 to 31. The DC, in his order, has stated that due to the dense fog and low visibility in lower hills of the district, schoolchildren were facing difficulties. Residents had been requesting him to change the school timings for the safety of children.
