948 new cases; 12 succumb in Himachal

The state today reported 948 new cases, taking the tally of the infected persons to 35,729. As many as 12 persons lost the battle to the virus in the last 24 hours.

Five deaths were reported in Kangra district, three each in Shimla and Hamirpur and one in Kullu. The highest-ever 375 cases were reported in Shimla, which has emerged as a hotspot. Mandi reported 175 cases, Kangra (76), Kullu (72), Chamba (59), Lahaul-Spiti (42), Hamirpur (41), Bilaspur (33), Una (30) Kinnaur (24), Sirmaur (17) and Solan (4).
