5 schoolbuses impounded for violating norms

As many as 70 vehicles were inspected

Solan, February 22

Acting on the directions of the Solan Deputy Commissioner, the Transport Department officials have started a campaign to check offenders under the Motor Vehicles Act in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial cluster.

A naka was laid by the Nalagarh Regional Transport Officer Madan Sharma who said that the campaign was initiated on the directions of the DC. As many as 70 vehicles, including schoolbuses were inspected and 27 vehicles were issued challans, for various violations. Schoolbuses plying in the area were checked and five buses found violating norms were impounded. Three autorickshaws were also seized for various violations.

Sharma warned the motorists to abide by the norms and added that the campaign would continue.
