5 cops, two Army men among 70 infected

With 70 new coronavirus cases today, the state’s tally shot up to 2,634, including 12 deaths. The highest number of 36 cases were reported from Bilaspur district and 26 from Solan.

Nine cases in Solan

Five persons in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial belt, one in Arki and three in Solan tested Covid-positive in the district. Solan District Magistrate prohibited the foot movement of industrial workers in 3 km from Marrawala (Haryana) to Baddi and Barotiwala. However, industrial workers from other areas would be permitted to enter Baddi and Barotiwala in vehicles with a valid permission.

5 cops infected in Mandi

Seven persons, including five police personnel deployed at Gohar police station, were found infected with Covid-19 in Mandi district. According to the district health authorities, the five policemen are the primary contacts of a Covid patient. A few days ago, a cook of the police station canteen at Gohar had tested positive. SP Gurdev Chand Sharma said that 35 police personnel were deployed at Gohar police station.

15 +ve in Sirmaur

Fifteen persons tested positive for coronavirus in Sirmaur district on Saturday.

DC RK Pruthi said three women and 11 men among the infected persons were the primary contacts of Covid patients at Nahan. The DC notified three containment zones in Ward no-7 at Nahan covering the house of a Covid patient, the house of another patient at Badripur panchayat in Paonta Sahib and Ward number-4 at Kotia Jajar in Rajgarh.

8 catch virus in Kangra

Eight more persons tested positive in Kangra. Those testing positive included 21-year Army jawan of Chowki village near Jwalamukhi, 31-year-old paramilitary personnel of Morad village near Jwalamukhi, 5-year-old girl child of Gopalpur village near Palampur and 22-year-old Army man of Salli village near Shahpur.
