3 Baddi patients shifted
Nalagarh SDM Prashant Deshta said 33 employees of the factory were kept in isolation, out of which three tested positive.
The remaining 30 persons have been home-quarantined.
The surge in Covid-19 cases continued on Friday with 40 new cases being reported, taking the tally in the state up to 1,417, including nine deaths.
With four persons from Kashmir testing positive in Boileauganj area in Shimla, the entire stretch from Jagat Sweets to Gopal Temple has been sealed.
The highest number of 10 positive cases were reported from Sirmaur district, followed by seven from Chamba. Besides, six cases were reported from Shimla, five from Kullu, four from Solan, three each were reported from Kangra and Kinnuar and two from Mandi.
In Chamba, the seven positive persons included four policemen. They had a travel history of Delhi. Besides, a 26-year-old man from Jamsali Mohalla and a 22-year-old youth from Hatnala village near Chamba city, both with travel history of Kyrgyzstan, and a 28-year-old woman working at the Covid containment centre at Dalhousie also tested positive. All of them have been shifted to the Covid Care Centre.
Three persons were found infected in Kangra — the tally of cases in the district has gone up to 322. A 30-year-old woman from Pathiar near Palampur with travel history of New Delhi, a 32-year-old man from Nagrota Bagwan with travel history of Noida and a 26-year-old man from Bhat Lahri village with travel history of Delhi were found infected.
Ten persons, including two minor girls who had been in the contact of a Covid patient, tested Covid-positive at Nahan in Sirmaur on Friday, taking the tally of cases in the district to 58. Today’s was the highest spike in one day in the district till now.
Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner RK Pruthi said that these 10 persons — five men, three women and two girls — had participated in a marriage ceremony at Govindgarh in Nahan in the first week of July. They had been shifted to the Covid Care Centre at Trilokpur. At present, there are 18 active cases in the district.
Four persons tested Covid-positive in the Baddi industrial area today — the total number of cases in Solan district is 292. Medical Officer Health, Solan, Dr NK Gupta, said that a woman, a girl and two men, who are in quarantine at Baddi, tested positive. There are 182 active cases in the district now.
