33 cases, 10th Covid death in Himachal

The state registered the 10th death due to Covid-19 and 33 positive cases today. A 75-year-old woman died at Medical College, Sarkaghat in Mandi.

Senior Medical Superintendent Dr Jeevanand Chauhan said the woman was suffering from acute kidney failure with severe respiratory distress syndrome and was critical for the last two days.

As many as 13 new cases were found in Sirmaur, seven each in Kangra and Solan, three in Shimla, two in Hamirpur and one in Kullu.

Solan hospital sealed

A doctor and 36 other health staffers and as many secondary contacts from the regional hospital at Solan have been quarantined after a pregnant women, who was admitted here and later referred to the IGMC, Shimla, tested Covid-19 positive today. The labour room, maternity ward and the operating theatre have been sealed and sanitised.

Nalagarh workers infected

Seven workers of Sara Textiles, Nalagarh, tested Covid-positive. The Solan Medical Officer said all of them are migrants and the contacts of other workers who had tested positive earlier.

12 of Nahan locality test +ve

Thirteen persons, including an 11-year-old boy and an eight-year-old girl, tested positive in Sirmaur today. Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner RK Pruthi said that 12 residents of Govindgarh Mohalla in Nahan, including two children, tested positive. They are contacts of 10 persons who were found infected on Friday and had attended a wedding on July 5.
