322 challans for illegal mining in Himachal

The Himachal Police have issued 322 challans and 295 of them have been compounded. They have also realised Rs 17.10 lakh as fine from violators during its two-week special campaign against the mining mafia launched on August 1.

The remaining 27 challans have been sent to courts. During the campaign, 226 vehicles (134 tractors, 80 tippers, nine pickups, two trucks and one JCB machine) involved in illegal mining have been seized.
