319 cases, three deaths in Himachal

As many as 319 Covid cases were reported in the state today, taking the total tally to 8,466. Three deaths were also reported. The highest number of 99 cases were reported 99 in Solan, 66 in Mandi, 57 in Kangra, 35 in Shimla, 21 in Una, 13 in Sirmaur, 12 in Kinnaur, nine in Bilaspur, four in Kullu and three in Chamba. Two deaths took place in Shimla, and one in Una district.

99 cases in Solan

Solan district registered the highest one-day spike of 99 cases on Thursday. Three policemen in Nalagarh, three SBI employees in Solan and two in Parwanoo, and an employee of the Assistant Commissioner's Office at Parwanoo were among those who tested positive.

As many as 49 persons, including eight workers of Sidhartha Super Spinning Mills, were found infected in the BBN area.

57 infected in Kangra

As many as 57 coronavirus cases were reported in Kangra district on Thursday.

13 cases in Sirmaur

Thirteen persons, including a policeman in Paonta Sahib, tested Covid positive in Sirmaur district. Deputy Commissioner RK Pruthi said seven cases were detected in Nahan.

NIT prof dies at PGI

As many as 23 persons, including nine police personnel, tested positive for coronavirus in Hamirpur district while Priya Darshi Viplove Kumar, an assistant professor of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), died at the PGI, Chandigarh, of Covid. His sample came out positive after death.

42 of Mandi firm test +ve

As many as 66 cases were reported in Mandi district. Those infected included 42 employees of a private firm.

3 of family infected in Una

Twenty-one persons tested positive for coronavirus in Una district. Those found infected included a 28-year-old policewoman in Amb, and three of a family.
