3 doctors appointed at Keylong hospital

The state government has appointed three specialist doctors at district hospital, Keylong. A notification was issued on June 27.

The Tribune had highlighted the issue of seven posts of doctor lying vacant in Keylong hospital on June 25. Due to that the residents of the Lahaul valley were denied proper medical service.

Of the seven vacant posts of specialists, the state government has filled three posts appointing a radiologist, a paediatrician and an orthopaedic surgeon in the district hospital.

The residents of Lahaul have appreciated the decision of the state government. Kunga Bodh, a member of Zila Parishad Lahaul and Spiti, said, “We urge the government to fill the remaining four posts also. These posts are of gynaecologist, general surgeon, ENT and anaesthetist. There is a need to strengthen health services in Lahaul.
