3 die as car falls into Sutlej in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla

The driver loses control over the vehicle and it plunges into a deep gorge

Three people were killed and two injured as the car they were travelling in fell into the Sutlej near Kumarsain in Shimla district. 

The deceased have been identified as Jitesh, wife Vanshika, residents of Kinnaur; and Abhay Kumar, resident of Reckongpeo in Kinnaur.

The injured have been identified as Anshul Fanyan, resident of Kinnaur; and Rahul Krishan, resident of Kalpa in Kinnaur. 

According to police, the accident took place on Thursday at around 5.30 pm on Sunni-Luhri road when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into a deep gorge. 

Locals informed the police, who reached the spot.

The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital, Kumarsain, where three of them were declared brought dead.

The two injured were referred to Mahatma Gandhi Medical Services Complex, Khaneri, in Rampur Bushahr. 

SP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said police are conducting an investigation.
