23-yr-old Sirmaur jawan martyred

Ankit Sharma (23), who was deputed with 21 Dogra Regiment, was martyred while patrolling on the Line of Actual Control in Arunachal Pradesh last evening.

Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner RK Pruthi said hat Ankit hailed from Dhar Pajera village in Rajgarh tehsil of the district. He is survived by his father Rajesh Sharma, mother Sunita Devi, 20-year-old sister Nitika and grandparents.

Ankit died in an operation while going towards another post from the Majha post along with his regiment at the Line of Actual Control in Arunachal Pradesh. His family was apprised about his death last evening. A pall of gloom descended on the family, which lost its only son. It would take more than two days for Ankit’s body to arrive at his native place.
