2 bikers killed in Aut Tunnel accident

Two persons were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a vehicle inside Aut tunnel on the Chandigarh-Manali highway in Mandi district today.

According to the police, both persons sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. The accused fled from the spot. The deceased were identified as Ram Pal of Bilaspur district and Naresh Kumar of Mandi district.

Police personnel on duty at Aut tunnel informed the police at the Mandi Sadar police station to set up a naka at Bheuli near Mandi town to nab the culprits.

Mandi SP Shalini Agnihotri said the accused were nabbed at the naka. The interrogation is underway.

A case has been registered, said the SP.

In another incident a vehicle was hit by a big boulder near 9 Mile in Mandi on the Manali highway and a couple sustained injuries.
