17 more contract coronavirus, tally reaches 673 in Himachal

With 17 new cases, the number of Covid cases continued to rise, taking the total number of positive cases to 673. Eleven cases were reported from Kangra, taking the total number of cases in the district to 181. Solan reported three cases, Sirmaur two and Chamba one. Almost all positive persons are returnees from Delhi.

11 more positive in Kangra

As many as 11 more persons have tested positive for coronavirus in Kangra, taking the number of cases in the district to 181. Those who tested positive today include a 30-year-old woman and her two-year-old daughter, residents of Ghumala village near Thakurdwara, with travel history from Delhi.

A 42-year woman of Viklage Chanan Kalan near Dehra having travel history from Ghaziabad and a 19-year-old woman, a resident of McLeodganj with travel history from Delhi, were found positive.

Three cases in Solan

Three Covid cases were detected in Solan district today. This included a Nalagarh youth who had come back from Kuwait on June 14. He was at a quarantine centre at Nalagarh. His eight contacts, including his parents, have been quarantined.

In Solan town, a 4-year-old baby from Khundidhar tested positive while rest of the family was under isolation. The family had come from Ambala. Another 25-year-old youth, who had come from Delhi and was in quarantine, also tested positive in Kunihar.

Two infected in Sirmaur

Two persons tested positive in Sirmaur district today. The first person was a 34-year old man, who had come from Ahmedabad on June 15 and was in institutional quarantine at Paonta Sahib. The other person was a 39-year-old man, who had come from Delhi on June 4 and he was in home quarantine till June 18. Both had been shifted to the Covid Care Centre at Trilokpur, said DC Dr RK Pruthi.
