Shimla, September 24
As many as 292 Covid cases were reported in the state today, taking the the case tally to 13,191. Also, the highest number of 12 deaths were registered as the number of fatalities rose to 144.
In the last 24 hours, eight persons died in Kangra, two in Mandi and one each in Kullu and Chamba.
The highest number of 64 cases each were reported in Mandi, 44 in Shimla, 37 in Kangra, 36 in Sirmaur, 26 in Una, 24 in Bilaspur, 14 in Chamba, 10 in Kullu, five in Hamirpur, three in Lahaul and Spiti and one in Kinnaur.
8 deaths in Kangra
Eight persons died of Covid in Kangra district on Thursday. Five deaths were reported in Tanda medical college, one in Zonal Hospital, Dharamsala, and one in the Civil Hospital, Palampur. All of them had comorbidities, said CMO GD Gupta. Besides, seven Covid cases were reported in the district.
54 cases in Solan
Fifty-four persons tested positive for coronavirus in Solan district on Thursday. The maximum of 15 cases were reported in Arki.
Man succumbs in Sirmaur
Twenty-seven cases were detected in Sirmaur district. A 55-year-old man from Paonta Sahib died at the dedicated Covid care centre at Sarahan Thursday evening after suffering a cardiac arrest.
