Ajay Sehgal, singer and actor having roots in Dalhousie in Chamba district, has made an impact with his recently released romantic song album “Mujhe ishq hai tujhi se”. His parents are living in Dalhousie since 1956.

The album released on February 12, two days before Valentine’s Day, under the banner of Apoorva Arts has gone viral on social media, especially on Facebook having more than two lakh views within two weeks.

Tribute to Mohammad Rafi

The new romantic number is a tribute to the legendry playback singer, Mohammad Rafi, and Sehgal has sung it in his own unique style. Covered versions are highly subjective that top the originals and are not necessarily inherently superior, but they do give songs a dimension that you don’t find in the originals, and Ajay has done it remarkably well.

You can watch Sehgal also performing as an actor with his emotional expressions. He has successfully made an impact on music lovers as a playback singer.

Set to enter Bollywood

He is all set to enter Bollywood and it will be interesting to see how Bollywood welcomes another Sehgal after iconic singer Kundan Lal Sehgal of yesteryears, but this time from Himachal.

Shot in Mumbai

The album has been shot in a Mumbai-based studio and music has been recreated by director Ajay Jaiswal. A few months ago, his super-hit romantic number “Mein is chhore hun”, a duet song sung by Sehgal with Bollywood singer Jyotica Tangri, was released.

Plays lead actor

In this video album, Sehgal features as the lead actor with TV actress Vindhya Tiwari. The song was shot in the beautiful hills of Manali. Lakhs of people have showered their love on this promising artiste from Himachal.

Sehgal is at present working on a patriotic Punjabi song titled “Koi pehli lagan lga daee” for inculcating the spirit of patriotism in the youth. He has also penned the lyrics of the song.

Fan of Himachali ‘dham’

He is a great fan of traditional Himachali ‘dham’ (community lunch) and wants to promote it side by side with Himachali artistes. He is also a renowned author and wants to inspire and motivate the youth to emulate the ideals of our great freedom fighters and martyrs such as Ram Prasad Bismil, Bhagat Singh and Ashfaq through his movies and songs.

Sehgal is also all set to bring a new edition of his famous book Swal Rashtra Ka. In the past, he has given super-hit albums such as “Bas ek pal, Zindagi ke safar mein”, “Meinne poocha chand se” and “Yaad aave”.
