Skin boosters are biological materials that encourage the skin to improve its function

For everyone, beauty plays a significant role in their lives beyond the age 40. Aging leads to diminished capacity in the functionality of all the skin layers, which in turn leads to a structurally weak and esthetically unappealing skin which is dull, dehydrated, and inelastic. Skin boosters can be defined as biological materials or bio-actives that help or encourage the skin to increase or improve its function. Boosters have been used in treating skin structural changes associated with aging as well as other factors such as corticosteroid-induced skin atrophy. Restoring the loss in skin nourishment and vital components is the concept involved in bio-revitalization of the skin.

Back to normal

The majority of our skin is made up of collagen bundles and a hydrating material. These create the shape and fullness that we see. But skin tissue can be lost or atrophied because of heredity, sun exposure, muscle action, pressure, sleep positions, smoking, weight loss and just with age. As this tissue is lost and there is less natural filler underneath, the skin becomes less taut. This can leave wrinkles, folds, depressions, grooves and sagging skin. Refilling these areas restores normal contours and rejuvenates the area and the face.

The reduced number and activity of fibroblasts lead to a reduced collagen synthesis and a decrease of dermal collagen I and III. Visible signs of the intrinsic aging process include dehydration, loss of tissue tightness and elasticity, wrinkle formation as well as thinning of the skin and can be superimposed by extrinsic skin aging (especially UV-induced photo aging).

Long-term solution

Skin boosters are outstandingly suitable for deep hydration of the skin, and their effect is long-term and safe. The reason skin-boosting treatments are becoming so popular is mostly because they’re completely safe, non-invasive with minimal downtime and are recommended for any age group. The skin booster treatment uses a very thin filler which is scattered across the face via multiple microinjection (it can also be used on the neck, chest or hands) to create tissue hydration without affecting the face’s contour.

When injected, the hyaluronic acid molecules start to absorb water up to 200 times their weight, giving hydration to the skin from inside out. With excellent and advanced hydration, the skin looks plumper, brighter, and more youthful.

The biggest breakthrough is that patients are seeing more natural-looking results. Injected properly, one will look refreshed. Friends, family, and co-workers, however, aren’t likely to know what you’ve done. The results look that natural.

The breakthroughs go beyond natural-looking results. It’s now possible for skin boosters to give you:

  • Less-noticeable hollow areas under your eyes.
  • Younger-looking hands.
  • An overall more-youthful (and rested) appearance.
  • Fill in or soften the look of recessed scar.
  • Fill in or soften static wrinkles, especially on the lower face.
  • Less-painful injections.
  • Longer-lasting results.
