Yoga a priceless gift to humanity: Union Minister Piyush Goyal

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal today said yoga braught inner peace and improved health, besides giving the message of humanity, peace and knowledge to the world.

Goyal was here to attend the International Day of Yoga at Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra on Tuesday. Nearly 5,000 people performed yoga on this occasion.

In his address, the Union Minister said, “It was a matter of pride for me to attend the International Day of Yoga on the land where Lord Krishna delivered the sermon of Gita. Performing yoga at the Brahma Sarovar gives you new energy. Due to the efforts made by the government, yoga has reached every household and crores of people have made yoga a part of their life. Not only in India, but the International Day of Yoga is celebrated across the world.”

He also mentioned about the public welfare schemes being run by the Centre.

Goyal said “There is a need to acquaint the younger generation with the yoga practice from childhood. When the young generation will be healthy, educated and cultured, the nation will definitely move on the path of progress.”

Kurukshetra MP Nayab Singh Saini, Thanesar MLA Subhash Sudha, Deputy Commissioner Mukul Kumar and several other officials also performed yoga on this occasion.
