Will revive Dadupur-Nalvi canal project: Bhupinder Singh Hooda

Expressing concerns over depleting groundwater level, former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda said if voted to power, he would revive the Dadupur-Nalvi canal project to improve water table.

He was addressing ‘Jan Aakrosh Rally’ organised by senior leader Ashok Arora at the Thanesar Grain market.

Hooda said, “Kurukshetra has fertile land but it is a matter of concern that the water table is falling. If the situation remains the same, the tubewells will stop fetching water and farmers wouldn’t be able to grow grains. The Dadupur-Nalvi channel was the biggest water recharge project but the BJP government denotified it without even giving a thought to future consequences. If voted to power, we will revive the project to secure the future of farmers and the young generation.”

“The law and order situation has deteriorated in the state. The government had promised to double the income of farmers but at present, they are not even getting their cost of production,” he added. “Despite cold weather conditions, a tremendous response from the people in support of the Congress is a clear indication that the party would form the next government in the state,” he added.

MP Deepender Hooda and Haryana Congress president Udai Bhan also addressed the gathering.
