Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said the state government was reconstituting the Haryana Backward Classes Commission. Through the commission, the government would ensure that the beneficiaries got benefits available under all government schemes, he added.

He was speaking at a state-level event organised to mark Baba Makhan Shah Labana and Baba Lakhi Shah Vanjara Jayanti at the new grain market in Thanesar.

Ensuring economic uplift

We are committed to social, educational and economic uplift of all sections of the society... Only those who are more vulnerable should be included in the Scheduled Castes category. —Manohar Lal Khattar, CM

“Great personalities do not belong to any one religion and caste, but belong to all. Their thoughts, ideals and personalities inspire everyone. The teachings of such great personalities are the heritage of the entire society. We all have the responsibility to preserve and save their legacy. That is why we are working to take the message of great saints to the people under the Sant-Mahapurush Vichar Samman and Prasar Yojana,” he said.

The CM said, “We are committed to social, educational and economic uplift of all sections of the society... Only those who are more vulnerable should be included in the Scheduled Castes category. The communities having good income and jobs shouldn’t get included in this category.”

The CM said the government was collecting data of all families through the Parivar Pehchan Patra so that every family could be provided benefits as per its needs. He asked the people to get their Parivar Pehchan Patra prepared at the earliest.

He said, “The government is constituting the Backward Classes Commission afresh. After its formation, this commission will also take care of various problems of the society and ensure that the beneficiaries get all benefits.”

Minister of State for Sports Sandeep Singh, MP Nayab Singh Saini, MLAs Subhash Sudha, Harvinder Kalyan and Ramkumar Kashyap and several other BJP leaders were also present on the occasion.
