Virtual webinar on POCSO

Karnal: A virtual webinar on POCSO was organised by Mount Litera Zee School, Karnal, for the students of Classes V-X. Principal Deep Bedi along with staff members and students participated enthusiastically in it. Dr Nand Kishore, psychotherapist and psychiatrist from AIIMS, New Delhi, was the resource person and he enlightened them with the importance of POCSO Act 2012. He said children should be taught that they are the owners of their body. Correct names for their anatomy should be taught. It is the duty of each one to guide and keep children safe and should be made easy for them to understand what is safe touch. They should be empowered to say no.

International webinar at NDRI

Karnal: An international webinar on "diet-microbe interactions and human health" was organised at the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) under the aegis of National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) by the Animal Biochemistry Division. The webinar was conducted under the leadership of Dr Manmohan Singh Chauhan, Director, NDRI. Dr RRB Singh, Joint Director academics, DrDheer Singh, Joint Director, Research, acted as co-patrons and Dr Rajeev Kapila, Principal Scientist, convened the webinar. About 125 participants from different parts of the country attended the webinar.

JC Bose varsity signs MoU

Faridabad: The JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR), New Delhi, which is constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific And Industrial Research. As per an official, the collaboration will help both the institutions to work together in the area of science, technology, innovation, research, policy studies and science communication. The university can also make a big contribution in promoting science journalism.

Maths behind data transmission

Faridabad: Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh organised a talk on the topic of 'Mathematics behind data transmission'. Dr KL Kaushik, HoD, Mathematics, Aggarwal College and Dr Arpana Garg, head, department of mathematics, IB PG College, Panipat, were the keynote speakers. The experts spoke about the methods of transmitting, encoding and decoding of data required in commercial practice. A total of 55 students attended the lecture marked by the question-answer hour. Principal Dr Krishan Kant, Priya Arora, Dr Naresh Kamra, Neha Goel, Renu Bala, and Geeta Tripathi, staff members of the mathematics department were among those who attended the programme.

Modern trends in quality education

Faridabad: The department of chemistry, JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, in association with Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari, organised a one-day seminar on "modern trends in quality education". As many as 178 participants from both universities attended the seminar which was held under the aegis of internal quality assurance cell (IQAC).

Ambassador of change

Faridabad: The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has selected JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, for AICTE's brand ambassador of change under its leadership in teaching excellence (LITE) programme for academic year 2021-22. The university is the only affiliating university from Haryana selected under the programme among 21 state affiliating universities and will work as a model institution to implement AICTE's leadership in teaching excellence programme in the state universities to implement online teaching-learning methods that are aligned with national education policy-2020. Through its brand ambassadors of change institutions, the AICTE has a plan to expand the programme to more affiliated institutions from academic year 2022-23 onwards.
