Ambala, January 14

The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Ambala City and the BJP in Ambala Cantonment organised Shri Hanuman Chalisa Yatra and Shri Ram Yatra, respectively, on Sunday.

While Home and Health Minister Anil Vij led the yatra in Ambala Cantonment, MLA Aseem Goel led the yatra in Ambala City.

In Ambala Cantonment, the Shri Ram Yatra started from Subhash Park and covered various markets and areas, including the Nicholson road, DC road and Sadar Bazaar Chowk, before concluding at Subhash Park.

Despite cold conditions, hundreds of BJP workers and local residents participated in the yatra with flags in their hands. Vij urged the public to keep the religious places clean. “Preparations are underway for the consecration ceremony on January 22 in Ayodhya. Therefore, we need to make preparations at our level as well,” he said.

In Ambala City, Shri Hanuman Chalisa Yatra started from the bus stand and concluded at Shri Ram Temple after passing through various markets and localities. People recited Hanuman Chalisa during the yatra.

Aseem Goel urged people to celebrate January 22 as Diwali. He also criticised Congress for not accepting the invitation for the consecration of Lord Rama’s idol in Ayodhya. “By declining the invitation, the Congress has insulted the Sanatanis and they have once again proved that they believe in Rome and not in Lord Rama,” he said.
