Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel visits Kurukshetra University museum

Praises varsity for preserving culture, providing quality edu

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel paid a visit to the KU Heritage Haryana Museum at Kurukshetra University here today.

She lauded Kurukshetra University for its efforts towards providing quality education and preserving culture, emphasising the significance of safeguarding the rich traditions and culture of the state within academic institutions.

‘Repository of culture’

Expressing her heartfelt appreciation for the KU Heritage Museum, the Governor remarked that the museum serves as a repository of rural culture, evoking nostalgic memories of bygone eras. — Kurukshetra University spokesperson

The university spokesperson said, “Expressing her heartfelt appreciation for the KU Heritage Museum, the Uttar Pradesh Governor remarked that the museum serves as a repository of rural culture, evoking nostalgic memories of bygone eras. She pledged to explore similar endeavours in various universities across Uttar Pradesh to uphold and conserve ancient rural culture.”

“During her visit, she extended congratulations to Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva for Kurukshetra University’s remarkable achievement of receiving an A++ grade by NAAC, underscoring the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and cultural preservation,” the spokesperson added.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Sachdeva and museum curator Prof Vivek Chawla welcomed the Governor.

The Governor also visited Brahma Sarovar and paid obeisance at Shri Sarveshwar Mahadev Temple. She said, “Through the teachings of Gita, the whole world is getting knowledge of culture and the path of peace. Therefore, every human being should adopt the teachings of the holy scripture in the life.”

Upendra Singhal, Honorary Secretary, Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB); and KDB members Ashok Rosha, Dr MK Moudgil; and Captain Amarjeet Singh presented a coffee table book to the Governor.
