Two arrested on rape charge in separate incidents

The police have arrested two persons in connection with separate incidents of rape. The victims are minor in both cases.

Revealing this, a police official said the accused identified as Talib (25) hailing from Palwal district but residing in Adarsh Colony here, has been arrested on charge of raping a 17-year- old girl here recently. The girl known to him was taken to a spot on some pretext a few days ago, where the crime was committed. A case was registered by the police in response to a complaint filed on Sunday. The accused has been remanded in judicial custody.

In another case, a team of the women police station managed to arrest Feroz, who hails from Siwan district in Bihar, but resides in the Palla area here. The 35-year-old accused was arrested from Noida in UP after a raid on Sunday. It is alleged that the accused who befriended the girl on pretext of getting her a job in a factory, raped her on June 24. He had met the girl outside the factory gate a few days before the incident, after the girl failed to get a job in wake of her being a minor (16 years). The police registered a case on June 25 on the basis of the complaint lodged. The accused was remanded in judicial custody today by the local court.
