SUV bursts into flames in Gurugram; miraculous escape for woman driver

The incident happened on Gurugram-Sohna National Highway near Rajiv Chowk

A woman driver had a miraculous escape when her compact SUV caught fire near Rajiv Chowk in Gurugram today morning.

Seeing smoke rising from the engine, she got out timely from her Ford EcoSport before it burst into flames.

On receiving information, the fire brigade team reached the spot and doused the fire but the front part of the vehicle was completely destroyed.

According to fire brigade officials, at around 11 am, they received information that a vehicle had caught fire near Rajiv Chowk. Within minutes, the fire brigade team reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire.

The SUV owner, who was going towards Sohna, said that on seeing the smoke rising, she immediately stopped the vehicle near Tau Devi Lal Stadium and soon after it caught fire.

According to fire brigade officials, the fire was reportedly caused due to short circuit.
