Speaker: 25 calling attention motions received for discussion

Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gian Chand Gupta today said 25 calling attention motions have been received for the Budget Session beginning from February 20. Besides, two non-governmental resolutions, one private member’s Bill, and a non-confidence motion have also been received for discussion during the session.

A draw of lots for selecting starred questions was held under the supervision of Gupta here today. In the draw, 334 starred questions by 50 MLAs were selected for discussion in the Question Hour for seven days during the session.

Gupta said “A total of 51 legislators had sent questions for inclusion in the Question Hour, of which 334 were selected through the draw of lots. Ten MLAs had sent ten or more starred questions for the session while Indri MLA Ram Kumar Kashyap had sent the maximum — 14 starred questions.”

He also said that 21 legislators had sent notices for 196 unstarred questions with Faridabad MLA Neeraj Sharma sending the maximum of 28 questions. Gupta said a meeting of Business Advisory Committee (BAC) would be held on February 19 to decide the duration of the session and the business that was to be taken up.
