Shri Vishwakarma Skill University gets simulation lab

Palwal: The skill faculty of engineering and technology of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University installed its first advance CNC training centre of excellence at the Dudhola campus. Vice-Chancellor Raj Nehru said this was the first-of-its-kind advanced CNC simulator machine to be used in north India. Announcing to install more high-quality precision machines, he said it would help students learn new techniques and increase employability.

653 students awarded degrees

Ambala: Sanatan Dharma College, Ambala Cantonment, held a convocation ceremony on Monday. The chief guest of the day was Som Nath Sachdeva, Vice-Chancellor, Kurukshetra University. He said India was the youngest country in the world with around 37 crore youth. He asked students to think big and think out of the box. College public relations officer Dr Naveen Gulati said 653 students were conferred degrees. Of the total, 586 were under graduates, while the remaining were postgraduates.

Panipat varsity gets NBA accreditation

Panipat: The Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) programme at Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology has got its second consecutive accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Chairman Hariom Tayal and vice-chairman Rakesh Tayal acknowledged the efforts of director professor Dr Shakti Kumar, head of the department, Dr Monika Gambhir and her team. Rakesh Tayal said programme enabled Indian graduates from accredited engineering programmes to practice or go for higher education all over the world.

Poster exhibition on drug abuse

Yamunanagar: To mark International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Guru Nanak Khalsa College organised a poster exhibition. College Principal Dr (Major) Harinder Singh Kang said a poster making competition was organised to give information about consequences of taking drugs. Associate Professor at the Social Work Department of the college, Dr Hemant Mishra, was the chief coordinator of the event. She said all posters had been displayed in the campus to inspire students to stay away from drugs.
